Valerie Mazo is an abstract artist, with a passion for ceramics and mixed media. A Latina raised in New York City, she earned her bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in New Media and Design at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She currently resides in North Carolina, USA.

Mesmerized by universal phenomena and ancient designs, a major theme in her work is exploring naturally occurring colors and shapes that emerge in awe inspiring geometric patterns and textures.

Through studying archaic methods and imagery and experimenting with multiple cultural designs and techniques, she strives to transcribe elemental motifs into contemporary art in order to bring a presence of nature and history amongst a modern technological era.
